Special Christmas Convoy of Motorbikes Visits Little Jack
Over 100 bikers, members of the motorcycle community from all over the country, turned up at the home of little Jack, aged six, in Slough on the eve of Christmas to pay tribute to a very brave boy fighting a rare form of cancer. Jack’s wish was to see lots of big motorbikes and to hear the roar of the machines parade past his home. The huge convoy was a remarkable gesture from the bikers, who made a tremendous effort to turn up complete with Santa hats and presents to make their visit really special for Jack. His father, Paul, said “This is a day not to forget. You should have seen his little eyes light up when all the motorbikes were roaring past the house. We are so grateful. It was all organised so quickly.” With the assistance and generosity of the British Motorcyclists Federation, together with motorbikes from Harley Davidson Clubs, the London Side Car Club, and GoldWing Owners Clubs they created a convoy which would make any small boy’s special wish come true. Very sadly, Jack died two weeks after his wish was granted. His parents, Paul and Maxine, have given permission for this Wish Story to be printed. They would like to thank everyone who took part in Jack’s wish. Make-A-Wish would like to extend special thanks to all the motorcyclists, including Anna Zee, Chairman of the BMF, who at very short notice were able to attend. |
